This is the audio CD that accompanies the Phonics in Song  book. It contains 38 songs matched to the letters of the alphabet, including the hard and soft sounds of c and g and both the short and long vowel sounds of a, e, i, o, and u. There are two alphabet songs and five songs that teach the consonant phonograms of ch, sh, th, thr, and wh.

The songs are presented in alphabetical order, but they can be used in any sequence to fit any phonics curriculum. All the songs are simple, mainly two stanzas, in easy-to-sing or easy-to-play melodies.

The Phonics in Song format offers another sensory mode for learning phonics. Generally, the more senses used by the child, the easier the learning. The rhythmic cadence and higher pitch of the songs is geared toward young ears.

The songs on this CD reinforce what is taught in the Phonics in Song book (sold separately). The Workbook has the musical score and lyrics for each song, explains the featured letter, includes appropriate illustrations, and offers teacher notes where necessary.
